Yes, that is definitely OCD. Teeth grinding, anything with counting, etc. I would say that if you can fight it great, if not you may need to see a therapist (EMDR helped me, google that if interested). If you're not careful, OCD can get worse.
For small dings, you can use solarez, which is a premixed resin. Sunlight causes it to set in about 10 min or less, and it has fibreglass in it as well. Very handy when travelling
