I am looking for a fitting that is apparently impossible to find. It is a 1 male connection with fine threading. Not the coarse threading that is usually on galvanized pipe. Any idea what type of threading this may be and if anything is still made with that threading?

Even is all pipe and pipe fittings were completely frictionless there would still have to be pressure drop for the fluid to flow. The drop would be less but would still have to exist. There must be a pressure difference for there to be a force to cause the fluid to move. If you analyze the Bernoulli equation, you will see this.
