Are there any really good tricks to remember when to use the Preterite vs. Imperfect tense in spanish?

Im in spanish 3 and I cant seem to remember when to use each tense, and im really having trouble with it. any help would be great thanks all

Why not discuss some of the things that the kids deal with everyday. Scissors (sit at the table when using them. Don't wave them around. Only use them on paper. etc) Sitting on the floor. Criss cross applesauce - snowball hands. That way nobody can trip over you - and nobody gets hurt. Sand. Don't throw it - or even pour it from a higher level where it can get into somebody's eyes. Food. Don't share it. Some children have allergies. Furniture. Don't climb on it. Sit properly in your chair. And - there are many more you can think of, I'm sure. We have little safety talks all the time in our classroom. Soooooooooo many of the rules we have are there in order to keep the children safe. Good luck!
If it's a factory alarm lock door by hand, alarm is only set when the doors are locked with power lock button on door panel or with remote. You can lock all doors with with power switch, open drivers door to exit vehicle, lock drivers door by pushing the lock rod by hand. The alarm is not set at this time, needs the power lock input to set alarm.
