Are there fire alarms that are hard wired to the AC that also have batteries?

Answer:

I'm listening to it right now as well. It's good but Megadeth has made alot better.
Keep yout brakes - and get a freewheel hub. Fixie is dangerous and only good for track racing or tricks. It is not good for riding anywhere where you need to slow down, stop or control your speed to prevent accidents.
Go get your tranny serviced asap. Your gears may be going bad and you don't want that to happen while you are trying to get somewhere! My brother in law lost his gears on his way to Arizona from California and got to spend the night in the cab of his S10. No fun!
Fixed wheel is fun in the winter. As long as you run studded tires. DIY studs won't hold up for use commuting on roads. I've winter biked for about a decade and after many different setups (rigid MTB, cx bike, fixed wheel cx bike, plus a few other experiments) I have found that a low geared (38x17) cx type frame with riser/flat bar and metal studded tires (Nokian, Kenda, etc) works the best for me. No worry about frozen free wheels (pita in -15F weather), iced up derailleurs, and you always have your legs as a backup for brakes (always run a brake/brakes). The fixed wheel gives you amazing control on ice and the cruddy stuff. My buddy and I ride our fixed wheel cx bikes on frozen creeks around town, out on the lake, all over the place, a lot of stuff that I wouldn't even try to ride on a MTB with regular tires.
