I bought a USB data cable to sync maps on my GPS and Best Buy told me it was also a charger cable. Though the box only says it's a charger and nothing about the cable being a data cable. Are charger cables and data cables the same thing? I ask because my computer is not recognizing the GPS, it's only charging it and I'm wondering if it has to do with the cable.
If it's a USB cable and it fits, it'll work.
It will charge your device if you plug it into your computer (although some devices like Blackberry 8300-series phones require a software install too). It will not plug into the wall like a traditional charger unless you have an adapter. The cable is the same cable you'd use for a data connection.
