I have an Xbox 360 20GB Hard Drive and it is almost completely full. I got a 60GB hard drive, which does not come with a transfer cable. Microsoft does not give out free transfer cables anymore. I also have an Xsata, but i have tried to make a backup Image of the 20GB and restore it on the 60GB. It turns out all that just did is ruin the whole 60GB hard drive, so i got a new one. I need to transfer data without having to spend 13 dollars on a new cable, please help!

are you positive they don't give them free? did you phone them? if you did, and you do have to buy them, i have a solution that might help. Do you have a memory card, or do one of your friends have a memory card? if so, plug it in with you 20 GB plugged in. then move your profile to the memory card. Also, move your saved game datas. not the expansion packs, the the save point that are like a few KB's. this should all fit on one memory card. Next, delete all of your expansion packs for you games from you harddrive. I know it seems weird and like you're losing money, but just listen, Now, put in your 60GB, and move all the stuff that was on the memory card to it. Now, go to the marketplace, and re download all the expansion packs. Since you've bough them before and that info id saved to your profile, you will download the ones you already did for free. no transfer cable needed, just takes longer. If you have music on it, you'll just have to re rip them.
Well, the only way I know how to transfer memory without a cable is with a Xbox memory card. What you would do is just transfer the memory from your hard drive to the card, then from the card to your other hard drive. The downside to using this option is that some games (for whatever reason) won't transfer on a card, so you would need to use the cable. Also, most often the memory card's themselves can be $20-50 depending upon what size memory unit you would want. So, to fulfill your $13 dollar requirement, I have no idea.
