I have a 98 Audi A6 quattro which I am looking for some wheel spacers. I know theres 5mm and up im just not sure what size I should get. I want it to look nice and not have the wheels sticking out like 2 inches from the fender. If anyone with a Audi A6 has done this please give me some ideas thank you.
Hi most guys who know about such things will tell you a wheel spacer puts unrealistic strain on the suspension. so there is a chance of the suspension failing. as mention by thebax20 he knows exactly what extra tension it puts on wheel studs which hold the wheels on my stupid brother did exactly this and when one his rear wheels overtook him going down the hill and a grinding noise from the rear of the car it became obvious that wheel had fallen off as the rear wheel studs had snapped off.
Wheel spacers are dangerous. They constantly loosen up and being behind the wheel no one ever removes their tires to check them until a wheel falls off. The other problem is off setting the wheel causes wheel bearing failure due to the added pressure put on the wheel bearing from the off set. Not a good idea!
