When should you use one (what temp outside) and how do you keep from overheating the baby? I'm worried about SIDS from overheating but also don't want the baby to catch a cold.
Video-tape the kid or take pictures of him doing this - video is better (IMO). Consider installing a barrier (if you cannot afford solid fence panels for this area, then put up sheets of cardboard like you'd get from a store than handles large appliances like fridges or stoves.) However, the cardboard will not do well in rain. Putting up a tarp up on your side of the fence (with bungee cords etc.) is also liable not to work (he can probably undo it) but is cheap quick. I think putting up a solid barrier he can't see through can't poke stuff through, is your best option. I do not know if it would be legal to electrify the fence unless you OWN it warn them, in advance. There are ways to do so - with a solar battery (recharges daily) which provides a mild shock. But I worry he will throw poison over the fence, so installing a video camera so you can record EVERYTHING (24/7) walking the fence line when you let the dogs outside, is also advised. Either do not leave them outside or put up a cheaper fence line (chicken wire, utility wire, lattice) inside the outer fence line - to keep your dogs 10 ft back you can tarp or block the sight line off on it, as you see fit. (It can easily be removed, later.)
you need much more weight in the rear. all season tires are garbage in conditions like this, your studded winters are best. dont bother stopping all the way at stop signs if it is not busy.. keep your momentum going and trying starting in second gear if you are manual
Your truck came from the factory with a limited slip option for the rear axle, phone around to the scrap yards and see what they want for one. There's a tag in the glove box that will say: anti-spin differential, you just have to find a wrecked truck that you can steal it from.
If you count 50% that either you get struck, or not. It's probably less than 50% otherwise we'd have a lot more people than we hear about, but why risk it? I'd rather be safe and live to play another day. Lee Trevino and Retief Goosen are pro golfers that have been hit by lightning. Look up what happened to Retief Goosen on wikepedia.
It does not have the 4x4 switch, because it doesn't have the 4x4 transaxle and everything else! Simple answer is to add weight to the rear. Like 4-500 pounds. Sand bags is the way we do it in my northern state. Add 5 more bags of gravel. And understand that nothing can make driving on ice seem like driving on dry concrete. You need to alter the way you drive, in icy conditions! p.s. Don't use the brakes. This is part of the problem. Keep your gas tank filled too, for the extra weight. Don't come to a complete stop if there is no traffic.
