Question:

backup data from blackberry torch?

i am trying to backup my data from blackberry torch 9800 to my PC. i bought a USB cable from walmart which is good for smart phones to charge them. i am using that cable and blackberry desktop manager. but when i connect my phone with laptop using that cable it starts charging but desktop manager does not recognize my phone and it still says connect you phone. also when i connect my phone using that cable i dont see any options on my phone like 1. charge. 2. mass storage etc. or any other options. what do you think, i am using a wrong cable? or i need to do some settings in my phone?

Answer:

in case you went and did the final attempt to wager your password and flow the type in BlackBerry to get lower back into the gadget, it wiped the gadget sparkling, to permit you lower back in. If that's what surpassed off, and you haven't any longer have been given any backups, you will desire to commence from scratch, because it did a WIPE of the Blackberries inner memory. Your Blackberry is now lower back to production unit settings. something no longer saved to the media card (memory card) isn't long gone. Lesson found out immediately, continually continually continually use the backup strategies for any cellular telephone/telephone.
Its the wrong cable. You need a data cable for blackberry not a charging cable. Data won't go over a charging cable. It should say charging or usb when you connect. You need a bb data cable.
