Question:

Barn Smoke Detectors?

Hi All,Is there such thing as a smoke detector that acts as a long-range baby monitor? We are a co-op and our barn is on a property that we lease, and none of us live on site.Is there such thing as a smoke detector we can install that would detect us at one of our houses if it ever detected smoke? The person who lives closest is probably like 5 miles away. Thanks!

Sounds like a homework assignment to me ;-) My best suggestion is go to pedia and start there. Look up railroads and I'm sure you'll find some great articles with helpful links. pedia is great for this kind of thing.
Do Not Fire her without a Written Warning. Show it to her in a meeting, ask her to read it and sign it. If anyone else on the staff is also doing it, it will stop immediately. Depending on her attitude, judge at that point if you want to give her a suspension. If it continues, use it as evidence when she applies for Unemployment benefits charged against your company. It shows you fired her after giving her a second chance to change her ways. You won't be firing her for theft, which requires a conclusion of law and conviction and that takes forever to prove. Fire her for Misconduct, defined as a deliberate and willful violation of the company rules that is detrimental to the operations of the business. And its too bad in this day and age, even if you have a really small company, that you have to have a Company Rulebook that includes things like, 'No Stealing from the company.'
The alarm is armed (on) and the driver's door latch is not sending the unlocked, door open signal to the alarm/comfort module. Therefore, the alarm sounds off when you start the car. You have 2 options. 1. Replace the Driver's door latch. Then when you unlock the door with the key, the alarm will turn off. 2. Buy a new remote and have it adapted to the car. Then the alarm will turn off when you unlock the door with the remote. You could disconnect the alarm horn, in the plenum chamber underneath the wiper motor, but the turn signals will still flash while you're driving. The is really no way to disable the alarm. The Anti-Theft Alarm is part of the Comfort System Module or Central Locking System Module, depending which system is installed in your car. If it was my car, I would replace the driver's door latch, and get a new remote. It can be problematic just replacing the remote alone. Bare bones, just replace the door latch. About $300 installed at the dealer.
