Question:

Blood smells of Iron?

this may be a weird question, but my period really smells like iron or metal. what does this mean?

Answer:

A major component of blood is iron and that's probably where the smell is coming from. Might be good to have your iron levels checked during your next physical, just to be safe.
Red blood cells are mostly composed of iron. The iron smell just means you have a lot of iron in your system, which is perfectly fine. Everyone's blood has a slight iron smell/taste.
