Question:

Boiler water pressure?

I've got a Vaillant Atmocompact water heater. the water pressure in my tank is completely gone and the little needle on the pressure gauge is as low as it can go. I have looked and looked and cant seem to find the knob that sends water back into my system. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated, I am having to take cold shower and they blow.

Answer:

The External Filling Hose which should have two taps on each end. Tap 1 should be opened and then when tap 2 is opened please be sure to keep your eyes on the pressure gauge as the flow of water will be heard at this point and the pressure will be seen to increase. As mentioned the correct pressure should be at about just over 1 bar. Most boilers will have the red area which starts from 0 bar and this area should be a warning that your boiler system is low on pressure. The website will be including practicle videos for common problems with plumbing in general including boiler issues.
Your boiler pressure should be set at 1.5/2 bar. You fill the water pressure by a flexible pipe underneath the boiler. You will see a valve on this pipe which you open to allow water into the boilerand close the valve when it reaches the pressure mentioned. be aware that when the boiler is running , this pressure setting will rise, because hot water expands as it is heated, but will return to the correct setting when the boiler is off. The pressure will decrease gradually.
