Question:

Cabin water line insulation?

I have a cabin in central Missouri that has 20' of exposed 3/4quot; copper lineWe will only visit the cabin a few times in winter for a few days and when not there all lines are drained and winterizedI'm debating whether to use a heat tape with the black insulation OR just the black insulation with R19 wrapped around that and run water through the line every few hours warm the pipe back up to well/ground tempsAnyone have thoughts on this?

Answer:

It's gotta be the worst comercial for a car everIt says, hey this off-road vehicle can't climb anything.
I live in Southern MissouriMountain GroveAll you need to do when you are there is let the faucet drip on nights when it is well below freezingI don't trust that electrical heating tape I would insulate the pipes with the black insulation, but I would also tape the black insulation so it doesn't open on the seam and allow cold air inSince the pipes are drained when you are not there, leave the faucets open.
mmaybe it wasn't his house!!!!
He gets back in a helicopter.
this question doesnt have a really good answer because this commercial is sucks, but if i were that guy i would get to my house climing wtih hardness.
