Question:

Cable Box Remote Control?

If I rent a cable box, do I have to use the remote control that comes with it, or will I be able to use the televisions original remote to change channels. I would rather not have to click guide everytime I change channels.

Answer:

All you need to do it place your cable box at an angle so it points toward where you are sitting with the remote. Then put the cable box next to the TV not on top or below it. If pointing to the cable box is a problem it might be because your remote has weak batteries that you need to replace. Or maybe you just need to dust off the lens on the remote sensor of the cable box.
The channels will have to be changed thru the cable box. You might be able to program your tv's remote to control the cable box, but you won't be able to actually change channels on the tv.
