Can a Data Cable for a Samsung Sync be used to put music from computer to my phone?

I just got a USB Data Cable and im not sure how to use itHelp!!!Pleasee!

well i have a samsung phone that came with that cable and it worked to get the music in with windows media player sync but it isn't worth it because it doesn't support many media types
