Question:

Can guitar strings be removed then reattached?

I need to loosen some screws on the bridge of my electric guitar (apparently they are too tight and preventing the whammy from working)The screws are directly under the strings, so I think I will have to remove the strings to get at themWill I be able to reattach the original strings afterward? I don't want to unnecessarily replace a whole set of perfectly good strings.

Answer:

GuitarPicker +1 I will add to the top poster, DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREWSIf you need to lower the brdige, this will make the strings tighterSo you need to loosen the strings from the machine head (1/4 turn each) Now , tighten the screws for the whammy bar, 1 full turn eachRetune the guitarIf it is still too high, re-loosen the strings, turn the screws another full turnRetune, etckeep at it until you have reached the desired travelIf the bridge is too low, than you need to loosen the screws in the back, then retune the guitarRepeat as required until the brdige is where you want itUsually, 1/4 from the body is the correct placement for a good travel, or dive-bombing etc.
i could use 10 one million/2 needles and use 2 strands on the comparable timethe extra advantageous needle length will loosen it up and the two strands will bulk it upcumbersome type 5 yarn is alwasy outstanding as properly.
have it blocked at cleaners.
