I have win xp pro on my pc and win wx home edition on my laptop. Also, what if I want to use a ethernet cable to connect and transfer data, how do i go about doing that?
it depends, in theory that is how it works but the cable must be intended for that use, they sell usb cable for file transfer and it comes with a cd on how to do it, it is very easy. if this cable was home made, it wont work. a crossover ethernet cable is your best bet. email me if more help needed.
you can use it. hook them both up and go to the windows east transfer wizard. it will give you instructions. usb is lsowe rthen ethernet though. you will have to have a unshielded twisted pair for that. (utp) not your regular one.
