Question:

Can't find my sprinkler control box?

I am currently renting a house my am having a hard time getting a hold of my landlord. I see that my yard has a full sprinkler system and I know where the control valve box is but have no clue to where the actual control box is to turn it on. Ive searched the garage and around the outside of my houseis there such a thing as no control box? where else should I look?

Answer:

Irrigation Control Box
Sprinkler Control Box
There are two types of controls. You have the physical valves which open and close the supply of water to the heads. These valves are electrically attached to a timer or controller that signals the valve when to open and close. I assume this timer is what you cant locate. First try to find which way the control cable from the valves goes. It usually goes in a straight line toward the clock (90% of the time the clock is mounted on a wall either in the garage or in or outside the house). It has to be attached to a 110 volt source of electricity usually a household plug. There is a possibility someone has removed it. Look to see if you can find the cable coming from the valves near a wall . It will have several small colored wires in it or extending from the end of the cable. There has to be a physical clock/controller somewhere to operate the valves. If the valves are grouped in two separate locations there will be one cable from each group of valves.
