A nebula is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen gas, helium gas and plasma. From a nebula a star can form just like our Sun. From the reminiscences of a nebula planets are formed. What if the only grains of rock present in a nebula are made of quartz (not silicates pure quartz)?Can a terrestrial planet form only from these grains of quartz?
The formula for quartz is SiO2. The formula weight of that is 60.0844 g/mol. (2.70 g) / (60.0844 g/mol) × (6.023 × 10^23 molecules/mol) × (2 atoms O/molecule) = 5.41 × 10^22 atoms O
