I know it may sound dumb, but is there any possible way to set up a lightning rod and connect it to something that could capture the energy from the strike and reuse it for consumer use?
it sounds like your pc's c-mos battery is dead or dying a c-mos battery lookes like a watch battery and its purpose is to keep your pc's memory alive.And you might want to check setup it sounds alot like safe mode as well,check it by pressing delete or f8 when it prompts you to right after you turn your pc on it will give you a list of options to choose from including system restore,you stand alot better chance of system restoring from setup than you do after startup,if it still wont restore than try reinstalling the os if it still has problems after you check and try theses three things,then my first answer would be an accurate solution. hope this helps you.
