The home I bought has an attached garage and I would like to put a smoke detector in it. I have been told that it's better to use a heat detector in a garage instead of a smoke detector, but having trouble finding a heat detector locally. I wouldn't be warming up the car in the garage. I do have a gas hot water heater in the garage if that matters. Thanks!
