I was wondering if I could get the 4 gig xbox slim with kinect and use a data transfer cable to use my 60gig hard drive that is on my old xbox?
What?! No! I'm pretty darn sure those two answers above mine saying you can are just yanking your chain. The transfer cable is for just that, transferring data to your new harddrive from your old one. I don't think it will function as a detached harddrive The 4GB xbox does not have a harddrive, it has a memory unit. It does not support any of the harddrive requirements. The xbox does not recognize it as a harddrive. The harddrive from your old xbox is not (easily) swapped into the harddrive space of the new xbox slim. It can (supposedly) be done, but requires some effort and skill, and you WILL void your warranty. If you need the storage and such that the harddrive gives you and you want to upgrade to the xbox slim you'll need to get one with a harddrive included, not the 4GB model.
