Question:

Car Tire sizes speed rating?

The tires i have now are 215-50R-17 93V BW. Can i put a cheaper version tire with specifications 215/50ZR17 91W BSW

Answer:

Yes you can. You will have no problems. Z rated tires are very good.
Thats fine. Its a higher speed rating. As long as you dont go lower than a V its ok.
The correct size is actually P215/50R17 93V (the BW is not part of the size, it just means the tire has blackwall instead of whitewall styling). There should be an XL somewhere in that size too like 215/50R17 XL 93V as this tire is in an extra load range rating instead of standard load. 215/50R17 91W is a standard load range tire using the European sizing system. Dimensionally it is the same but has a different load carrying capacity at a given inflation pressure. Up to 35 psi the difference is insignificant but if your vehicle requires higher inflation pressures than that no, you can't use these. Otherwise they are fine.
