Question:

What is a transmission cooler?

What is a transmission cooler and does every vehicle have one?

Answer:

A transmission cooler is in all cars and trucks with automatics. It cools the hydraulic fluid by means of a coil of tubing embedded in the radiator lower tank. Sometimes there is a separate, smaller radiator connected to the transmission.
it is very similar to the radiator for the coolant. it allows the coolant to be cooled to a safe temperature. some are external to the radiator and some are internal. some cars use both internal and external at the same time. if it is an automatic it should have a cooler. some manual equipped vehicles have a cooler also.
yes all autos have one,but you can put in a aux one for towing or heavy work
