Yes aluminum foil is highly reflective of the sun and may indeed bug your neighborsA better and still inexpensive alternative would be to use poster board or any heavy paper, like butchers paperGet the large sheets and cut them to size, and use regular scotch tape to put it on the windowsHope this helps :-)
