Question:

ceramic hair straightener?

can it be used everyday, or regularly at least? what‘s the difference between a ceramic straightener and a metal one? I plan to invest in one :D oh, and can anyone recommend a good serum to put on my hair before straightening to protect my hair from heat? thanks.

Answer:

Ceramic seals in the cuticle and does less damage than the metal. The metal will definitely break the strongest of hair. Don't do it every day. The thicker the hair, the stronger, but I'd still do it once a week max. If you have fine or curly hair, like maybe once a month. Those things will kill your ends. Use a product before you straighten like Fekkai Color Tech serum.
Of course you can straighten every day! ] However, it must be, as you've asked, a ceramic straightner and you should always put heat protective serum, spray, or balm through your hair. I use a great balm by PPS called the ends it contains hydrolized silk which makes your hair super shiny and look reallyyyyyy healthy. You can put it through your hair straight out of the shower on either towel-dryed or completely dry hair, ive found it works better on damp hair though. It protects the hair by sealing the hair cuticle protecting it not only from your straightner or other heated styling tools, but also protecting it from pollution and damage from the environment. Ive found it to be the best through humidity and rain because it stops the frizz! ]
Get your metal straightener - drive out to the wilderness - and throw it out your window D: ceramic straighteners are the way to go! :) they can be used regularly, when teamed up with a heat protector like Marc Daniels 'Go Curly: Heat Defence'. (Doesnt actually make hair curly, it works with hairdryers, flatirons, curlers, anything really :]) Ceramic doesnt damage your hair as much as metal ones. the metal ones are really, really damaging for your hair :O to the point where it will dry out or fall out, really. Invest in a ceramic one, it is definately definately worth it! :]
