Most craft stores might carry these.
Hi, I am beginner at ceramics too. I found that clay-king is a good site to find kilns, glazes in small amounts, tools, and most anything you need to get stared. Good luck!!!!!
look up underglazes, engobes, and glazes. Best thing actually is if you go to the library and look in their art/craft section. They are bound to have a decent book about glazes and related techniques. It's too much to explain here. If you google ceramic glazes you will find a lot of different suppliers on the internet. I personally prefer to find a local store. They can help you to pick out a clay body which is suitable for what you want to do and which glazes go with it. You can't mix everything. There a low and high fire glazes and there are also clays which won't withstand high firing, so read up on all this. Generally I'd strongly recommend to take a class before you buy your own equipment for ceramics. You get help so you make less mistakes which results in less frustration. You get some experience what kind of equipment is good for you, what you really need, and what you can do without. They can also advise you and recommend brands/models. And may be able to help you to find much cheaper used equipment. And most of all, you figure out if you really like it. You may find that you like the end product but don't care for the process of making it.
