I have an CANON SD790 IS camera and i want to know if i can use my camera as an SD card reader. I can read pictures directly off my camera on my PC but i want to know if I need to buy an SD card reader to install CHDK in my SD card.
If youve installed the Canon drivers and software which came with your camera you may not need the card reader. The Canon software and drivers should let your computer recognize your camera as a drive containing the memory card. You should be able to transfer the CHDK file directly to the card in the camera. I dont know this absolutely because I havent done it. It wouldnt hurt anything to try. You could test the idea first by trying to transfer an image file from your computer to your camera.
