Question:

Check engine light is back on HELP?

So, My check engine light came on about 2-3 weeks ago. The code read p10702 bank 1 (system too rich). I had the o2 sensor replaced and it was fine for a while. But the same code came back on! what could it be now? Just need opinions. And also I‘m waiting on my check so would it be bad to run the car for 2-3 weeks until I can fix. Any help will.HELP. Thanks in advance. Btw my cars a Vw gti 2001 idk if that helps or not.

Answer:

problem is usually in emissions system, but can be any number of sensors that are sending the wrong signal to ECM. what you need is to have a mechanic with a scanner do a diagnostic check and make an written estimate on cost to repair. Cost to do this will be about $60, but is well worth if done correctly. Otherwise you are just throwing parts at the problem hoping for a fix. Note a scanner is not a code reader it is a computer that talks to your vehicles computer, ECM PCM
take to auto zone have checked again. could just be gas cap loose, probably a new problem now that you fixed the other problem. good luck
