My check engine light wont go away. I‘ve been told by two different garage‘s that I have to replace some sort of code or something to get it working again. I know theres nothing wrong with the car so I‘m not too worried about it, but I still want to know. Anyone else have this problem?
Yeah . . . waste of time. Onlyme, has pretty much said it. No real advantage, and if you ride discs on your other rigs then . . . you will know how much stop you will get with a disc on the front - I am guessing that you are not so insane as to put a disc on the rear wheel also. Or maybe you are just crazy. Do want you want. I have no clue who would want to go for a training run with a crazy person all rotored up a bloody road bike. Good luck mate, you'll need it.
No, you are not insane. Sometimes I think I would like my hybrid to have disks. Now the downside. Everything I hear about disks are a hassle. From removing and refitting the wheel on the bike, to the annoying noises they make. Riding a couple hundred with the brakes chattering or squealing? No thank you.
it somewhat is totally decrease priced to first exchange your gas clear out. while that has been executed, have the gas stress checked on the gas rail stress setting up beside the gas injector nozzles under the hood. we could have given you lots extra help in case you had written down the proper code your on-board computing device replaced into sending. A word of propose: Your interior of sight Toyota broker has extra effective, up thus far diagnostic kit. they are going to have the flexibility to make the restore on the proper *reason the sunshine is coming near. this is to no longer say their are many sharp private mechanics, despite if he's in basic terms as stable as his diagnostic kit with all modern-day up-dates.
If you have a advance auto parts in your area they will check the codes for free, and tell you what the codes are for.If you don't have a advance auto parts store in your area and you know there is nothing wrong with your vechile then disconnect the negative side of your battery post, then open one of your car doors and let ot sit for over 10 minutes then re-attach your negative battery. Then check to see if your check engine light is gone.Good Luck!
Actually, there is something wrong but nobody yet knows what it is. You don't mention make, model or year but if it was sold in the US after January 1, 1996 it has the OBDII emission system (federal law, you know.) A scanner has to be plugged into the system to read the codes that tell what sort of thing is wrong. Most auto parts chain stores will do that for free in hopes of selling repair parts. For example, a P0440 code says there is a problem with the evaporative control system - often a loose gas cap. A P0172 says the engine (or the left bank, if dual exhaust system) is running too rich - something that can cost you a catalytic converter if you drive it hard on the freeway. You need to have the code read, and at the same time the person reading the codes can try to reset them. If the light won't stay out the problem really needs to be fixed - something is still wrong with your car.
