its not terribly difficult but there are things to kkep in mind, your water heater probably has a 1/2 inch line to it and tapping into that and up to a dryer may not provide enough volume to both when on, the length of gas line from the meter is important as well as total capacity on the system. however if your on propane you might be ok as propane is a lot smaller than natural gas (molecules) but a pro could do some calcs and let you know
