My mom and I bought a cookie press ,and it didn't seem to work very well. The dough wouldn't stick to the sheet, and then it didn't look anything like the pictures. If you know why this happened, tell me and if you hae tips, pleeeeeeeeeeez tell me.
Sometimes mine works and other times the cookie wouldn't come away from the press. Try different recipes. Some work better with different presses. I also think real butter makes the dough easier to work with.
Do not use no stick cookie sheets. And it could be your recipe, cut back on some liquids,is possible.
This works if your cookie press is non-electric. Put the cookie press on the cookie sheet with the prongs or feet sitting on the sheet, turn it so enough dough is placed on the sheet. Give it a slight turn back. This should cut the dough so the cookie should stay on the sheet. Hope this helps. Lots of Luck.
I had this same problem with a cookie press by Wilton that I got from Bed Bath Beyond... I found that it wasn't a problem with some of the cookie shapes, but others didn't work at all. The only thing I could get to work reliably was to give the trigger to relase the dough two squeezes instead of one. The cookies were a bit bigger, and looked a little different than normal, but they turned out just fine!
