will meds containing copper kill nitrifying bacteria? can i use it on neon tetras? do i still need to administer it at half dose for tetras? can it kill ich?
Copper sulphate is the usual remedy for curing Ick. It can be used on Neons, but Neons often have Neon Tetra disease (a parasite) that causes the same white spots as Ick. It is triggered by stress and is extremely difficult to cure in Neons. You're likely to lose a lot of them by the time they're cured. Fortunately, I have used Copper Sulphate successfully for Neon Tetra disease as well. .
