Question:

Could anybody tell about drive axle?

I have a Toyota Camry with None ABS. And I want to replace my car's axle with ABS. So, Does it will fit or not? I mean; it doesn't matter ABS work.Could anyone tell me about this? Thanks

Answer:

Astrally the axles don't have anything to do with ABS. If the car has ABS the wheel bearings that are pressed inside the spindles front and rear have an electronic reader that points to an empty gear sprocket. The electronic reader senses the loss of traction when the brakes lock up a wheel on ice or rain. The sensor reads the speed of the toothed sprocket as compared to the wheels that are not sliding. It sends a message in a split second to the braking system to partially release the caliper pressure of the brake pads on the wheel that's rotating the slowest do to slippage or loss of traction. To convert your car to a full ABS system would cost $1,500.00 - $2,000.00. Many new parts are involved, Wheel bearings with the relucter wheels and electronic readers, master cylinder and all the electronic interfacing involved.
The only difference between the ABS axle and the non-ABS axle is that the ABS axle has the additional notched ring which the sensor reads to detect wheel skid. The question is why would you want to pay the extra for the ABS axle when your car is not equipped with it?? Replacing the axles will not give your car ABS, to perform that upgrade will require thousands of dollars in controllers, wiring harnesses, the modified hub knuckle assembly's required to mount the sensors, the sensors themselves and untold hours of labor to perform the conversion. Cost simply exceeds value.
Depends on the strength of the winds. If a EF0 or EF1, a vehicle could travel through a tornado. Granted at EF1 scale, the windows might be blown out. Anything stronger than a EF1 tornado would either blow the vehicle off the road, flip it over, or make it airborn. The mass and size would not matter in a tornado. I have personally seen 2 ton trucks thrown around like toys by a tornado. Also, where the car enters would not matter. Sara, interesting view there Sara, er, I mean Edward, or is it Carly.
If the car was going over 300mph nothing would happen at all, they could even fly through photo radar and not be filmed. Too fast. It was tried on myth busters.
abs is electrical wouldnt think you would have to change axle which id drive not stopping. and really thro its a better system the cost woul dbe high i think to which it over when really you dont need it
