i have an 85 honda rebel, and the rear tire size is 130-90-15 but what if i put on a 150-90-15? would it make a difference?
Its wider, general rule of thumb is 10mm larger will fit, but that is 20mm Ive seen 20mm larger work on some bikes.not many though, you'll need to measure the clearance in the rear fender firstget a vernier caliper or something accurate and measure from the tire you have on there now and see if there is 10mm of clearance on each side to the fender.
It should fit, 20mm sounds like lot but thats 10 mm on each side witch is only 13/32 of an inch. Most bikes have around 3/4 of an inch or more clearance on each side.
Not worth doing: It will slow the steering, and the rear suspension will work less well, due to increased unsprung weight. There will be no increase in performance. And it may not have enough clearance at the swing-arm. Remember that tires grow at speed and as they warm up.
