Okay, so i recently started listening to um, like screamo and heavy metal. then my friend recommended i start listening to death metal, saying if you like heavy, you'll like death. BLAH BLAH BLHA |:so i did. AND I CANT MAKE A DIFFERENCE OF THEM |:SO SO SO SORRY. Metallica has some good songs with orchestras, also the song Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria is a good one. Hope this helped, ~Stropko
metallica put out a live album with them and a massive symphony orchestra, its called SM. evanescence like to use strings etc...though they aren't really metal...
I hear that Dimmu Borgir will often play with an orchestra
there are PLENTY! search symphonic metal, or melodic death metal, you'd be surprised. the sound is so intense and awesome too... here's a couple to get you started! Nightwish Dimmu Borgir Cradle of Filth Within Temptation (light metal) it's a great genre to listen to, even though some people can't seem to get past the 'harshness' of some of the vocals.
