Question:

Did Madonna deserve to be hoisted to the status of having a permanent place in the Rock N Roll hall of fame?

Technically, she isn't a 'rocker.' Is she? She has always been the bellwether of Popular music. Has she not? However, shelving personal bias or subjective claim about Madonna and her personal life...which isn't all that tawdry to start with in contrast to some...Madonna has make an indelible mark on pop culture and the music gamut. Wouldn't you agree?I don't know which video it is...but in some video made a few years ago, Madonna was driving a late 1970's Camaro. This makes me deeply fond of her, all other parameters notwithstanding. Ergo, she deserved a place in the Rock N Roll hall of Fame, in my view. What say you?

Answer:

I think she should be there,I think the woman is amazing... She's done a lot, for music in general, more than other artists have ever accomplished. And eventhough her music changes, I think she's still worthy of being inducted... Micheal Jackson is pop, and he's there so why can't Madonna?? I've seen her Confessions tour, and believe me the woman can still rock out....Even for her age!!!xD I don't have a reason for why she shouldn't be there because I think she deserves to be there!!!!: D
It seems everything these days compromises in the face of popularity. You're right. She is not a rocker. Compare her to Jimmy Hendrix. How are they alike at all? They're not. Pretty soon you'll see Barrack Obama inducted to the Rock Hall of Fame.
She in no way shape or form deserves a place in the rock and roll hall of fame. She has never done rock and roll music and the only reason that she was inducted was because they feel they have to have at least five inductees every year and they are running out of choices.
madonna is in the hall of fame because she is the best and most successful pop song writer of the last 30 years - bar none. she's also vastly underrated as such - and catnip for faded rock cranks like all of you who have nothing better to do than spout received opinions about what doesn't constitute good music. yikes. try prying your brains open with some sort of kitchen implement - there's a whole world out there. (that said, c'mon hall of fame - how about a little emerson, lake and palmer, some king crimson, maybe? alice cooper? tull?)
