There is a mysterious confluence of the HVAC control cables underneath the radio in the center console. The cables can get out of whack if the housing slips through one of the clamps. You can pull the passenger side of the console, and I think the panel under the coin tray comes out as well. Describing what they do is just about impossible but if you watch them move when you turn knobs you will get the idea.
