Question:

Do I really need prescrition sunglasses if i don't wear prescription eyeglasses?

My optometrist told me i need prescription sunglasses and I'm confused because I don't even wear a prescription eye glasses. I don't know a lot about glasses since i pretty much have a 20/20 vision. But here's what her prescription says: wear type: distance only; lens design: single vision; materials and coating: anti-reflective and UV coating then OD: -.25, cylinder +.50 axis 165; OS: -.25, cylinder .+50 and axis 180. what does it mean?Do i really need this or am i just being taken advantaged of? I had to pay $125 bucks on top of what my insurance covers. I told her I don't like driving at night because of the glare but I can tolerate it. So not sure why she gave me prescription sunglasses.

Answer:

yes!! same thing happened to me. well they deserve what they get in the end - bunch of evil bitches!
While this has happened, there are alternatives. All of you need to go to an attorney to see if you can sue the company for wrongful dismissal, as well as bring charges against her for creating an obviously hostile work environment for you, as well as false charges that got you fired. This is not a one way street that she can always get her way on. The company will tend to take her side to avoid a law suit from her if they do not act, AND her complaint seems reasonable. What all of you need to do is to show that her reasons were NOT reasonable and that she should get the pink slip of termination, and all of you re-instated, or settled with in a manner suitable to you. If you have been unfairly fired, fight it. One point to consider, if you did something that would be considered an offense that you could be fired for, such as a joke that offended her, BUT she listens to the same kind of stuff from others, does nothing about it, AND you can prove this, then the company is at fault, and so is she. It all comes down to what can you prove that the company did wrong, or what she chooses to ignore versus what she chooses to act on. If it can be shown that she has discriminated against people for the same offense, while ignoring others for the same offense, and this can be proved, you can get legal action taken against her. If the company sees that all of you do have a case, and that they can be sucked into it for wrong doing on their part, they may very well fold and ask for an out of court settlement.
