I own a 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT. I absolutely love my vehicle but I would like to make some changes to it. I‘m not very familiar with how a new exhaust system works or how much it will cost me, for that matter. Basically, I would like my car to be louder and sound meaner if it‘s possible. I have been told to get a new exhaust system, perhaps a dual? I have also been told about Cherry Bombs, but I‘m not sure i even know what they are. I would love to make my car louder but I‘ve been read these changes can cause a lose of torque/power. Is this true? If I can do this, what is an estimate it will cost? Help.

Custom exhaust systems don't come cheap. It's a foolish thing to do anyway. Chances are that it will never pass an exhaust emissions test ever again, and it draws attention to yourself. Do you want the police to notice you a lot? Plan on spending over $1000. easily. Here's a cheaper thing to do. cut away the original muffler, and replace it with a straight-through glass pack muffler. It sounds tough, and it might even be legal where you are.
