Question:

Does a Piaggio Typhoon 80cc have a Head Gasket?

Should there be a Head Gasket fitted on a 1994 Piaggio Typhoon 80cc Scooter?

Answer:

More than likely it is supposed to have a head gasket for removable head. Unless that model is a specialty racer using a liquid sealer only on pre 'waffled' machine head and cylinder top like BMW cars had for some models-and noted to have been copied from racing 2 stroke- or a one piece cylinder casting including head, the standard is .010/020 inch/ .03/05mm composite gasket with aluminum or copper facings-- or in case of some racers a very soft single aluminum or copper 'sheet'. Some people have been known to use the form-a-gasket liquids to replace gaskets that aren't in stock to get the scooters onto sales floor and it works for awhile, JB weld does get used some also. Not best way- but it gets scooter sold.
You'd have to either read your service manual, or look at the parts book to see the break out of parts for the heads. More than likely however there should be a gasket any place there is metal to metal contact to seal it properly. The link below is to contact Piaggio so you can put that question to them and get the support to get the books you will need to work on that model.
