Does my lawn need lime?

Is there a way I can tell by sight that my lawn needs lime? I have bald spots where my dog as been urination and I have more bald spot in different places. Can I tell if I need lime without buying a test kit?

It's an acid, so I don't see why not.
you can also use cream of tartar 1 cup milk + 1-3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Yes, it's the citric acid that sours the milk so lime juice will work just fine.
Lime juice works great...1 Tablespoon juice to 1 cup milk (minus 1 T).
