I was told one tire propels the axle but i am confused how this would effect the other tire and the differential. Thx
And I was led to believe the engine turned the transmission, the transmission turned the axle, and the axle turned one wheel/tire, which propels the vehicle.
the differential has 2 main gears the pinion and the ring gears pinion gear turns the ring gear which spins the axle which spins the roater and the wheel when you step on the brake the pads compress and the axle slows down and then you come to a stop nothing moves in the differential when you move the differential moves again and the process is repeated
Both tires propel the car unless one starts to slip and spin faster then the other one, then all the power to the non spinning wheel is lost.
