i have some rims im looking to put on my 01 eclipse they are factory 03 mazda protege wheels the lug patterns are right forsure i know this but the offset of my factory wheels are 46mm and the protege wheels are 55mm they are both high positive offset and both are 17 same tire size and everything just wondering if the offset if going to matter its only off by 4 so will these fit or no?
Buy this, apply as directed.
Periodically calipers need to be serviced, especially when pads are worn and caliper pistons extend further than usual collecting dirt. When you push the dirty piston back into the caliper it becomes sticky causing the pads to rub all the time. I suggest removing the calipers and pads , removing or at least hyper extending the pistons and cleaning and lubing them before pushing them back in,
Changing the offset also changes the center line for alignment. Sure, you can re-align to factory specs, but you still can't change the fact that the weight is now riding off center on the spindle. That will cause more rapid bearing wear. It's a bad bad idea. Just because other people do it, doesn't mean it's safe.
definately matters. you ever see people driving down the road and their wheels stick out from the fenders? that is because they didnt know enough to pay attention to the offset when they ordered wheels. aside from looking stupid, the engineers who go through much schooling to figure everything out on a vehicle designed the car with the wheels having a certain offset. if you change it, it makes the suspension and bearings have different stress points. instead of the weight of the car being balanced with the wheels at the correct placement the wheels being out more changes the stress points. that is why you will see alot jeeps with vibrations when they drive because guys put the wrong wheels on and the stick out. not to mention the fenders can hit the tires if they stick out and the suspension is close
