Question:

Does your toddler climb into his/her car seat on his/her own or do you lift him/her into it?

My toddler‘s car seat is in the middle of the back seat for safety (not in a window seat). I‘m pregnant and he‘s getting older/heavier. It‘s getting difficult lifting him in and out of the car seat. I have a 4-runner. My questions are:--For those of you with a toddler in the middle, do you use a step stool for him/her to climb on to get into the car and then climb into the car seat?--Do you have a car, van, or truck?--Does your toddler climb into his/her car seat on his/her own or do you lift him/her into it?

Answer:

my daughter is 4 1/2 and she climbs in herself (car and seat) we have a van. She has been doing this since she was 18 months old. I still have to buckle her in though (she is small so she is still in toddler seat.) I am also pregnant weith twins so it is a good thing i dont need to lift her too much good luck.
He can go into a toddler seat when he is 20 inches long and weighs at least 20 lbs and must be a year old unless its a convertible one If you are going to face him forward then that should be fine since he reaches the requirements BUT I would check the carseat you are going to purchase judst to make sure it has the right height and weight An infant carseat has a weight and height limit on them too If his head is 2 inches or closer to the top of the carseat he needs to be in a bigger carseat
We have a car and both of the car seats are by a door. My kids climb in and out of their car seats by themselves. All I do is buckle them in.
