I just got a new puppy and he is AWESOME and i have dog proofed the house, but he likes to chew on my computer charger. My computer battery is low. Help?
You need to get the charger out of reach so the puppy cannot do that. You run the risk of the puppy getting electrocuted or a fire. Keep the puppy away from the charger.
Puppies will chew ANYTHING within their reach. If you don't want him to chew your charger, make sure it is not within reach of his teeth. Give your puppy good things to chew like Nylaboones and Kong toys,
You must figure out a way to charge the computer where the dog can't reach it. Either that or constantly correct the dog every time it starts. Many dogs have died from chewing electrical wires. Chewing the wire after the transformer will only kill the computer.
Well you need to puppy proof your house ASAP if you want anything to survive, including your puppy, because if he swallows something, he can seriously injury himself or have intestinal blockage and internal damage. Keep the charger away from the puppy and pick up after your puppy, as any good owner would. The puppy is YOUR responsibility to keep up with. A puppy is like a baby, anything that it can fit in it's mouth to chew on or explore, it will. Your job as the owner is to see to it that the puppy does not eat anything that could harm him or cost money to you.
Well as the others suggested I would recommend you keep the charger away from your dog. However, with a chewed up charger its very risky to continue to use it. It could cause serious damage to your laptop if a short circuit occurs, and they normally do with bad wiring. I would suggest you get a new charger as soon as possible and keep the new charger away from your dog. Make sure you get one from a reliable source instead of a cheap knock off on like OKorder or something. I would personally suggest you visit topmic charger. They are very reputable and have great service. They include free shipping, 30 days money back guarantee, and free lifetime warranty so if the charger ever stops working, they would replace it at no additional cost, for life.
