Question:

Eclipse Cold Air Intake Issues?

Hello, I just installed a cold air intake onto my 2003 Eclipse GT. After installing it I took off the negative on the battery and actually let it sit overnight without it, (about 8 hours or so). In the morning when I started it, it seemed to have trouble trying to idle. When driving at one point my car got stuck in 3rd gear, and the neutral light began to flash on and off while I was in drive. Also, when coming to a stop, when the car reached 0RPM it would stall out. If anyone has any information on how to fix / what the problem is that‘d be great. Thank you,

Answer:

many people have multiple problems with cai after installation. And then write yahoo and ask questions, I get tired of answering this one I suggest you hook your intake back up and use this experience as a lesson learned. I would contact your mechanic and ask him before adding any of this fake crap to your car. Moat times it does not do what it promises, and you can damage the engine too. Best of luck I left my vehicle stock after a discussion with my mechanic.
Don't know WTF you did to your car but you've managed to throw transmission codes and the tranny is now locked in the fail safe mode. It won't come out of the fail safe mode until you have the vehicle scanned at the dealer and have the bad electrical part replaced. You need the dealer mutt II scan tool to read the tranny codes and then erase the light to get out of fail safe. Unhooking the battery won't cut it. The battery being disconnected for so long your PCM has lost it's memory and you will need to drive the car in stop and go traffic with no loads turned on for the PCM to do an idle relearn.
I'm not sure but i think it's the Phils.
