1990 olds calais 4 cyl. I think. I have no exhaust system, muffler ,pipes, nothing. Car sounds like it wants to fall over and die. It still drives but the engine sounds really bad and the check engine light came on once. it is very rusted on the bottom like when it rains or snows there is puddles in my floor boards. how can i fix that? and how much would it be for a whole exhaust system for this car? Also, is it safe to drive it 10miles and then 10 miles back. I have to go to work tonite and I can‘t put it in the shop till the morning? please help i am really nervous to drive this car thanks.
It will still drive without damaging the motor. The only way to find out why your check engine light came on is to pull the code. IF your car is rusted through, you may need to get a new car, rust repair can get pricey, but there is no way of telling without looking. A quick fix would be silicone sealant. An exhaust will run $500 to $1000 for just the parts, with labor on top of that.
You cant placed a three equipment on that automobile and whether you do it rather is pointless cat returned. The exhaust is already retstricted with the diameter of the manifold, front pipe, and cat. you are able to pass to a keep and function them build an exhaust for you, we do it all the time. funds rather could selection on what precisely you want relating to piping and muffler. i could say even an honest muffler and custom exhaust below 450 money.
