i found the muffler that i want on the internet for 94$ its the flowmaster supper 44. how much do you think it would cost to get it installed???because i know people who spend around 500$ for the same kind of exhaust system and im finding it for under 100.whats up with that?also if you know the pipe size on the stock exhaust system for a 98 dodge ram 1500 5.2 v8 extended cab. please share before i buy the wrong size.thnks for all the help.
Most of the cost of getting a new muffler is labor + various pipes and fittings -- not the muffler itself.
Melting Temperature Of Copper
i don't know but something you might consider you can't solder a pipe that has water in it so i doubt you can get the water hot enough to melt it.
IF you are looking to install just the muffler and keep the OE tail pipe, you are probablt looking at around $50 installed. Sorry I can help you on the pipe diameter.
$500 is usually for a custom exhaust system, i.e cat-back exhaust. Installation prices for a muffler depends on where you are getting it installed. I'm not sure of the pipe size but it should be easily found with some searching on google or on car forums
