Question:

Explain how ores are processed to obtain metals?

I need to be able to explain this for a science test tomorrow and I‘m not sure what the answer is. Help me, please?! And if you can make it a short explanation, that would be awesome.

Answer:

Often metallic ore is crushed into a powder or very small pieces. Then it needs to be separated from the dirt and rock. Metals like iron ore can be heated in huge pots until everything in the pot is molten. Then chemicals are added to draw the contaminants to the surface where they can be skimmed off the top and liquid metal poured out the bottom. More processing can be done using heat, electric charge or acids to further purify the metal, depending on what metal you are processing.
step1: get mineral ore stones from mines step2: crushing mineral ores into small particles or mineral ore sand 0-12mm step3: sometime mineral ore grinding ball mill is need, we can get powder of grinding mill step4: separation to get concentrate of mineral ore (gravity, flotation, magnetic separation machine needed) step5: drying concentrate for final products ore dressing plant is a complex processing line it is not in a certain combinations.
